Career Counselling
CHOICE MATTERS WELCOMES YOU
ABOUT
Michele completed her Masters qualification at QUT and has taught Career Development to those wanting to work as Career Practitioners for almost 20 years. Her own career since graduating with her Masters degree has seen her work as a Career Counsellor for QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre) for six and a half years. During that time Michele worked with both mature age and school age clients. Some of the work undertaken with them included finding alternative pathways where more traditional ones didn't fit or where their presenting qualifications made them ineligible, assisting with subject selection for students moving into senior years, and the whole gamut of decision-making strategies to enable maximum success throughout the tertiary application process.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
"Even though my son had received support from his high school Guidance Officer in formulating his post-school choices, the help Michele gave my son at critical times in the decision-making process relating to university courses ensured that he could refine his post-school choices to maximize his success and make sure he could reach his future career goals. Talking with my son and I gave us the confidence to make some decisions we would not otherwise have made if we had not received this advice and my son would not have received a university placement without this help and support.
Michele was able to help us navigate the confusing processes and decisions that need to be made around university courses and ensure we made decisions that gave my son the greatest opportunity for success. Michele was able to provide information in an easily digestible way that gave my son and I confidence in the decisions we made. I would highly recommend parents and students in similar situations who could benefit from working with Michele."

"Michele took the time to explain stuff to me rather than just tell me what needed to happen. She asked for my opinions throughout the process and supported me to realize that positive outcomes could be achieved and helped me to make appropriate choices. She really took the stress off me and was friendly and easy to talk to. I especially liked the way she explained things so well not only to my mother but especially focused on making sure she explained things to me in a way that made sense to me. I have recommended that some of my friends who are struggling with their choices go and talk to her because I am aware how much it helped me."

"Michele is one of the most experienced career counselors in Australia in relation to assisting clients to navigate the tertiary entry process. She understands that this process involves more than career decision-making; it involves a careful experienced understanding of the complex and ever changing systems of entry to post school institutions. She has extensive experience in providing tertiary advice to school leavers and to adults contemplating career change. In addition she has taught career development at university level, and understands the many variables which impact career and course decisions."
